How to Save the Consent Timestamp on Every Order
Overview of the settings to record the consent date and time on all orders: hide the "Buy it now" button in the theme editor and disable wallets such as Shop Pay so purchases go through the cart.
Due to Shopify platform limitations, the consent date and time is saved only for orders placed through the cart (see Where Is the Consent Timestamp Saved and Displayed? for details). To record a timestamp on every order, apply the following two settings so that all purchases go through the cart.
1. Hide the “Buy it now” button
Open your product template in the theme customize screen and hide the dynamic checkout buttons from the “Buy buttons” settings. The setting name and location vary by theme.
2. Disable wallets such as Shop Pay
In your Shopify admin, go to “Settings → Payments” and disable express checkout wallets such as Shop Pay.
